      Tatyana Gamzina-Bahtiy

russian artist

Tatyana Gamzina-Bahtiy was born on July 12, 1981 in Russia in Ivanovo, a city not far from Moscow. In her childhood she moved to Tyumen, a city in West Siberia with her parents. There she finished art school and graduated from Academy of Architecture and Art.

She had always been looking forward to becoming a painter and traveling round the world.         “I am lucky to visit quite a lot of countries by now: Czech Republic, Croatia, Montenegro, Israel, Thailand, China, Germany, Holland, Austria and USA.

In the present sketch-book I tried to collect the best works inspired by my last journeys. My painting is a combination of my own perception of what I see, instant impressions and experiences and just a casual outside perspective. Among my favorite artists are Turner, Rembrandt, Corot, Serov, Degas, Vuillard, Benois. In painting I follow traditions of the old masters trying to seek my own path.”

Participant in different exhibitions in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Tyumen, Yekaterinburg, Lucca (Italy). Member of Artist of Russian Federation since 2006.

Member of the international directory 222 the best young illustrators. Lives in St. Petersburg.
